Cupola Cares
The literacy rate of Pakistan is extremely low by world standards characterized by low enrolment in primary and secondary schools, high drop out rates and an over all poor quality of education. The scale at which children are missing out on access to basic education is huge. According to a report by the Asian South Pacific Bureau of Adult Education (November 2005), 45 percent children in Pakistan have no access to early childhood care and education: 40 percent do not attend primary school, 76 percent secondary school. The level of adult illiteracy in Pakistan is one of the highest in Asia: 59 percent.
There is a prominent dropout rate amongst the students especially in the age bracket 5-9. The reason for low literacy rate is primarily due to lack of resources and understanding the importance of education. The family income is low, the cost of schooling is high and above all the quality of education provided is poor.
The educational level of Pakistan is very low. This is because there is a lack of awareness about the importance of education in Pakistan. Thus the lower sector does not send their children to school.
Also, the educational costs are at times too high for such families, which deters them to send their children to school. The result is that children are deprived of their educational rights and are forced to be involved in child labor.
Cupola realizes the need for educating the lower class and intends to build this need at the grass root level. Educating the younger generation and giving them quality education is the key to resolve economic instability. With a commitment to make a difference, we established Cupola Cares Foundation, which is a non-profit, registered organization and a charitable wing of Cupola.
We, at Cupola Cares have one agenda- reach out to children who can't afford to get education. Not only that, we aim to improve the quality of education as well by training the teachers, improving their school environment and equipping these schools with facilities that assist in a better teaching and learning environment.
Our aim is big and difficult to achieve yet not impossible. We believe we need to join hands as a nation and as business partners and acquaintances to work towards such a sacred cause.
